HOLIDAYS IN USA

It is now two weeks that we are back from the USA. It was a long journey; interesting, seeing lots of things, and traveling many miles. It is not easy to travel with a family with 3 boys starting from 4-10 years old and an additional grand-daughter aged 21 years old. With her I got on very well because she is very well educated and she also has the same interests as me. In New York I have met two of my relatives. One lady from my father's side. She is absolutely fantastic. She is 85 years old. Together we visited the Frick Gallery. Some lovely Renoir painting were on display. Then we had lunch together. The other lady is/was from my mother's side. Her maiden name is/was Ariane Levaillant. Because my mom liked her a lot, I was also named Ariane. Ariane was a known figure skater in Switzerland and then moved to New York in 1942. She skated with the Holiday on Ice shows for several years. I have met her for the first and last time.... She told me another version of the family roots and she was not interested in keeping contact. Her loss. We also have spent one day and a half in Washington DC and then drove through a famous trail called: "The Blue Ridge Parkway." The nature was lovely. I felt very much at home.... We also took a mini cruise to Mexico. The destinations were not that interesting. Cozumel a tourist trap and Costa Maya. Though the boat was great. We completed our journey spending two days in Orlando. There I have met my ex-boss and her husband. They came from St. Marry Georgia to visit us. We have spent a full day at Epcot together.
